Emergency Affordable Students Accommodation Program (EASAP)

Objective

The Emergency Affordable Students Accommodation Program (EASAP) aims to address the accommodation challenges faced by Ghanaian tertiary students by providing flexible payment options and developing affordable rental properties.

Components of EASAP

Establishment of a Fund:
Create a fund in collaboration with investors, such as banks, to allow students to pay their accommodation fees in installments. This fund is geared and designed to accommodate the unique financial situations of students, ensuring they can focus on their studies without the stress of large, upfront housing costs.

Partnership with Private Property Owners:
Partner with private property owners near various campuses to convert their properties into hostel facilities.

Development of Hostel Facilities:
Swiftly develop new hostel facilities on campuses in collaboration with financial institutions and individual investors through Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and other financial vehicles.

Benefits

Reduced Financial Stress: Students can pay their accommodation fees in manageable installments, reducing the immediate financial burden thereby allowing them to focus more on their academic and personal growth without the constant worry of meeting large payment deadlines.
